Building The Future: A Look Inside Bestow’s Rapid Growth
Painted on a wall in our Dallas office is a mural that states, “Built not born.” It is a constant reminder to us that creating anything of significance or magnitude requires deliberate, incremental, and consistent work. Early on, it can seem like the efforts don’t amount to much. But with time, progress accumulates and compounds, ultimately generating a solution that otherwise couldn’t be built.
Today we are announcing several milestones in our journey to reshape the life industry as the insurance technology company of the future.
Growth at an accelerated pace
We’ve experienced an 800% increase in year-over-year growth, supporting a rapidly growing Bestow community with billions of dollars in coverage placed.
We successfully closed a new round of financing in February totaling $50 million to accelerate our mission and growth.
Soon we will be a team of 100+, made up of people who want to do meaningful work with peers who challenge them on a mission we all believe in. If you think you’re a fit, check out our open roles.
Bestow has also become the first fully digital life insurance carrier, and will be expanding nationally throughout 2020. This enables us to continue to partner with top-rated insurance companies offering great life insurance products, and launch some really unique offerings as a carrier later this year. Much more to share on this in the coming months.
Bestow Foundation launches amid COVID-19
Today we announced the launch of the Bestow Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization created to assist those who are affected by loss of life and raise awareness for life insurance. We began creating this foundation when we founded the company and feel now is the right time to take action, along with so many others doing good in our communities through this difficult time.
We are excited to announce that our first project will be to help combat COVID-19 by donating to the CDC Foundation on behalf of current Bestow policyholders. The CDC Foundation funds medical supplies, increases lab capacity, deploys emergency staffing to U.S. public health agencies, provides support to vulnerable communities, and more.
We are committed to these efforts and will continue to work with other organizations and companies who are in a similar position to provide resources and support for people during times of crisis.
Technologist and investor Marc Andreessen recently stated in his essay It’s Time to Build, “We’re all necessary, and we can all contribute, to building.” That’s what we’re focused on at Bestow, doing our part to build a better future.
