At Bestow, we use data to modernize the life insurance application process
This California Privacy Notice describes how Bestow Inc. and Bestow Agency LLC dba Bestow Insurance Administration Services LLC in CA, (“Bestow,” “we”, “us” or “our”) collect, use, and disclose the Personal Information of California residents, including through our websites (the “Website”). It does not address Personal Information that we collect, use, or disclose in our capacity as a service provider to our customers; their privacy notices relate to the Personal Information they direct us to collect or process on their behalf.
“Personal Information” is any information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular California resident or household.

Notice at Collection - What categories of Personal Information do we collect?
We collect the following categories of Personal Information relating to California residents:
- Personal identifiers: name, address, telephone number, IP address, and other contact information.
- Commercial Information: products purchased or considered.
- Internet or network activity information: navigation, website interaction activity and browsing history on our website (such as pages visited and links clicked); device and browser type; and information regarding your interaction with our advertisements; and marketing attribution parameters appended to URLs when you arrive at our Website from a marketing campaign (such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, and utm_content).
- Audio, electronic, or visual information: call recordings of customer service calls; transcription of calls used to enhance notetaking.
- Professional Information: job title, information about your employer, such as work history and prior employer.
- Inferences drawn from any of the Personal Information listed above.
Notice at Collection: Purposes for collection
We collect your Personal Information for the following purposes:
- To respond to your request or to communicate with you;
- To provide you with the information or the products and services you requested;
- To send email and marketing communications, and/or newsletters;
- To provide support related to our products and services;
- To analyze and improve our services, including analyzing usage trends to enhance your experience with our services;
- To display advertisements and other personalized content;
- To improve, enhance, and repair the functionality of our products and services;
- To maintain the security of the Website, including maintaining internal records;
- To detect fraud and activities that violate our contracts or that are illegal;
- To conduct diligence on companies you may represent;
- To enforce our Terms of Use;
- To protect our rights and the rights and safety of others; and
- To comply with applicable laws and requirements.

We may retain Personal Information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. In some circumstances, we may retain Personal Information for longer periods of time as may be necessary to comply with legal or regulatory requirements, as permitted by law, or to defend legal claims or resolve disputes.
Notice at Collection: Categories of Personal Information we sell or share
We may sell the following categories of Personal Information (according to the broad definition of “sell” under California’s privacy law) or share them for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising: personal identifiers (including IP address), internet or other electronic activity information (including engagement with our website and other websites or platforms), and inferences.
These categories of Personal Information are sold to or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising with advertising networks, data brokers and other companies that facilitate or engage in digital advertising . We engage in such sales and sharing to facilitate personalized advertising.

We do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising any of the other categories of Personal Information we collect.
From where do we collect your Personal Information?
We collect Personal Information from:

- California residents
- Operating Systems, platforms, and ISPs
- Public records
- Social media platforms
No use or disclosure of sensitive information
We do not use or disclose sensitive Personal Information to create profiles about or infer characteristics about individuals, or for any purposes that would give rise to the right to limit this use of sensitive information under applicable laws.
Disclosure of Personal Information for business purposes in the past 12 months
In the 12 months prior to the date of this Policy, we disclosed the following categories of Personal Information to our service providers and contractors for a business purpose:
- Personal identifiers: name, address, telephone number, IP address, and other contact information.
- Commercial Information: products purchased or considered.

Business purposes for disclosures of Personal Information
We disclose Personal Information for the following business purposes: to manage customer, supplier and vendor accounts and relationships; process payments; verify customers’ identities; fulfill orders and transactions; engage in advertising and marketing; operate our IT systems and secure our systems; prevent fraud and other illegal activities; and to obtain professional advice about legal and accounting matters.
We may also disclose Personal Information as required or permitted by law to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process or government request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is legally required or otherwise necessary to protect our rights and property or the rights, property or safety of others, including to law enforcement agencies, and judicial and regulatory authorities. We may also disclose Personal Information to other persons or entities to help detect and protect against fraud or data security vulnerabilities. And we may disclose or transfer Personal Information in the event of an actual or potential sale, merger, reorganization of our entity or other restructuring.

If you opt out of the sharing of your Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising, we will suppress your record from such audience segment uploads.

You can ask us to delete the Personal Information we have collected from you.

Right to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising
You can ask us to not sell your Personal Information and to not share your Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Nondiscrimination
You are entitled to exercise the rights described above free from discrimination. This means that we will not penalize you for exercising your rights by taking actions such as denying you services; increasing the price or rate of services; decreasing service quality; or suggesting that we may penalize you as described above for exercising your rights.
How can you exercise your rights?
Rights to Know, Access, Delete, Correct
California residents can exercise their rights to know, access, delete, and correct their Personal Information by:

We will need to confirm your identity by matching information you provide to us with the Personal Information we have about you to process your request to exercise your information, access, or deletion rights. We can’t process your request if you don’t provide us with sufficient detail to allow us to understand and respond to it.
Rights to Opt Out
California residents may exercise rights to opt out [CCPA form].
Opt-out Preference Signals and Do Not Track
An opt-out preference signal is sent by a platform, technology, or mechanism on behalf of consumers and communicates a consumer’s choice to opt out of the sale and sharing of Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising with all businesses that recognize the signal, without having to make individualized requests. The signal can be set on certain browsers or through opt-out plug-in tools.
We recognize the Global Privacy Control signal when sent from IP addresses from California, and do so at the browser level. This means we will recognize the signal for the browser through which the signal is sent. We do not respond to the DNT or “Do Not Track” signal.
Exercising Your Rights Using Authorized Agents

If you are a California resident and you use an agent to submit other types of requests, the agent will need to provide us with your signed permission indicating the agent has been authorized to submit the request on your behalf. You will also be required to verify your identity directly with us or confirm with us that you provided the agent with permission to submit the request. Please note that this subsection does not apply when an agent is authorized to act on your behalf pursuant to a valid power of attorney. Any such requests will be processed in accordance with state law pertaining to powers of attorney.
Changes to this California Consumer Privacy Act Notice
We may change or update this notice from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Notice on our site with a new “Last Updated” date. If the changes are material, we will notify you through our Website.
